Initial Ideas

During the first day of the specialism, we were given an introduction to space and illusion. This consisted of making a set within a cardboard box and creating drawings from such. I decided to make a living room setting, focused on making a set that looks like inside a TV shot. Due to my lack of resources or useable backgrounds, I came to the conclusion making small figure models would give me a good base to work from in regards to figure painting, and also would allow me to control the characterisation. I used pencils as bases for my figures, using masking tape and paper to create limbs and the rest of the body. I felt that this was a strong was of creating figures and allowed me to practice proportions and create atmosphere through movement and direction between characters.

I was happy with my time management of these figures, as they took me the morning session and gave me a really good base to start working from.
